Objective To know the basic research and the clinical application of cartilage-derived retinoic acid-sensitive protein (CD-RAP) in orthopedic and in other clinical fields. Methods The literature related to CD-RAP in basic research and clinical application were extensively reviewed. Results CD-RAP, as a protein, which is cartilage-specific,could be a marker of the joint diseases. It also can be used to monitor metastsais of melanoma. Conclusion CD-RAP test provides a new way to study repair of cartilage and metastsais of melanoma.
ObjectiveTo investigate the role of non-coding RNA (ncRNA) in the proliferation, migration and metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and the mechanism of HCC resistance to sorafenib.MethodThe literatures of ncRNA studies related to the incidence of HCC in recent years were reviewed, and the relationship between different ncRNAs and the proliferation, migration and metastasis of HCC was summarized, and the mechanism of sorafenib resistance in the HCC was analyzed from the perspective of ncRNA.ResultsThere were many kinds of ncRNAs, which were classified into the long ncRNA and short ncRNA according to their length. Currently, microRNA, which was widely studied, belonged to the short ncRNA. The regulation of the expressions of different microRNAs and long ncRNA could enhance or inhibit the signaling pathway of the producing HCC and played an important guiding role in the diagnosis and treatment of HCC. Meanwhile, the targeted regulation of this ncRNA could reverse the sorafenib resistance in the HCC.ConclusionsncRNA plays an important role in the pathogenesis of HCC and has become a potential target for the treatment of HCC. Targeted regulation of specific ncRNA expression could reverse sorafenib resistance in HCC.
Legionella, one of the causative pathogens of atypical pneumonia, firstly outbroked during the period of American Legion’s convention in 1976, Philadelphia. Legionella infection can accompany multisystem involvement. In addition to pulmonary lesions, it also accompanies extrapulmonary manifestations, including gastrointestinal symptoms (primarily diarrhea and hepatic dysfunction), neurological symptoms (primarily headache, disorientation and confusion of consciousness), urinary symptoms (primarily hematuria, proteinuria and acute kidney injury), rhabdomyolysis, as well as electrolyte disorder mainly characterized by hyponatremia and hypophosphatemia. This article reviews the extrapulmonary manifestations and its regulatory mechanism of Legionella infection.
Iron death is an alternative to normal cell death and is regulated by a variety of cellular metabolic pathways. Iron death has become a hot topic of research because it can cause damage to various organs and degenerative diseases in the body. Metabolism, signalling pathways, endoplasmic reticulum stress, and immune cells can all affect the occurrence of iron death, and the blood-retina destruction induced by iron death plays an important role in autoimmune uveitis. Exploring the components of the blood-retina regulatory mechanism of iron death in autoimmune uveitis can lead to the search for targeted drug targets, which can provide a new research idea for the subsequent study of the diagnosis and treatment of autoimmune uveitis.
