Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) standardization is an important carrier for TCM inheriting and innovating. As an important content of TCM standardization system, TCM clinical practice guidelines' designation and revision play an important role for medical staff to regulate medical behavior, and improve the quality of health services. This paper expounds the significance and function of the TCM guidelines, analyzes the present situation, opportunities and challenges, and puts forward the strategies and suggestions to promote the development of evidence-based TCM guidelines.
Through summarizing the definition, concept, and development of patient registry, and also retrieving ClinicalTrials.gov, we introduce its application areas, application range, disease, research number. Based on the application situation, we present the challenges faced now and future development of direction.
Based on the existing clinical research of pediatric Tuina, this paper introduced the current types of pediatric Tuina and their applications in the aspect of growth of newborn babies, emotion problems, pain, respiratory system diseases, digestive system diseases, jaundice, brain and nerve system diseases. As for the clinical researches of pediatric Tuina, the authors found the challenges including different understandings of pediatric Tuina, poor quality of clinical researches, and lack of basic data regarding pediatric Tuina. Meanwhile, the authors suggested three corresponding strategies to improve the clinical researches, i.e. to extract valuable intervention methods based on clinical practice; to conduct high quality clinical studies; to gradually collect and accumulate basic data according to a certain plan.
Bias in clinical trials or systematic reviews may result in overestimation or underestimation of the benefits or harms of the interventions, and conclusions may be false. Meta-epidemiological study is an important tool to identify and quantify the impact of potential bias characteristics, and it can provide empirical evidence for controlling the bias. This paper summarized the origin, development and definition of the meta-epidemiology study, and discussed the challenges and development trends, so as to provide references for carrying out the meta-epidemiological studies.
Compared with traditional medical devices, artificial intelligence medical devices face greater challenges in the process of clinical trials due to their related characteristics of artificial intelligence technology. This paper focused on the challenges and risks in each stage of clinical trials on artificial intelligence medical devices for assisted diagnosis, and put forward corresponding coping strategies, with the aim to provide references for the performance of high-quality clinical trials on artificial intelligence medical devices and shorten the research period in China.
The widespread application of composite endpoints in clinical research has afforded researchers a more comprehensive perspective, enabling a deeper understanding of intricate medical issues. Simultaneously, it effectively enhances the efficiency and efficacy of studies, thereby reducing the overall economic costs of research. A profound comprehension of the strengths and limitations of composite endpoints is crucial for their correct application and the accurate interpretation of results. This paper aims to introduce the recent advancements in the application of composite endpoints in clinical trials, discussing their advantages and limitations, and providing practical recommendations for their use. The intention is to offer guidance to researchers in understanding and managing composite endpoints effectively.
