ObjectiveTo observe the characteristics of the images of optical coherence tomography (OCT) performed on the patients with vitreomacular traction syndrome and its clinical significance.MethodsThe clinical data of 25 patients with vitreomacular traction syndrome diagnosed by OCT, fundus fluorescein angiography, and B-scan ultrasonography and confirmed by surgical treatment were retrospectively analyzed. The features of images of OCT in vitreomacular traction syndrome were observed.ResultsFive types were found in the images of OCT in the patients with vetreomacular traction syndrome. The main characteristic of the images of OCT in the patients with vitreomacular traction was the highly reflective band of the vitreous posterior cortex inservion at fovea. In 25 patients, vitreomacular traction associated with macular edema was found in 10, macular hole in 3, macular epiretinal membrane in 6, retinoschisis in 1, and retinal detachment in 5.ConclusionOCT is a potential powerful toll for detecting and monitoring vitreomacular traction syndrome. ObjectiveTo explore the feasibility strategy for patients’ fast track after the operation of thyroid papillary carcinoma with no drainage tube application.MethodsPatients undergone the operation of thyroid papillary carcinoma from June 2017 to March 2018 were enrolled in this retrospective study. All patients were from the same medical teams composed with the same attending doctors. They were divided into two groups according to the drainage tube applied or not. Finally the incidence of postoperative hematoma, incisional infection, and subcutaneous effusion were compared between the two groups, while the length of stay, pain score after operation, and satisfaction of patients were also analyzed.ResultsThe incidences of postoperative hematoma, incisional infection, and subcutaneous effusion were totally similar between the two groups. While the length of stay and pain score were significantly shorter or lower, satisfaction of patients were higher in group of no drainage tube applied (P<0.05).ConclusionsThe operation of total thyroidectomy plus bilateral central lymph node dissection for papillary thyroid cancer without drainage tube will not increase the probability of complications such as hematoma, incisional infection and subcutaneous effusion. On the contrary, it can shorten hospitalization time, reduce wound pain and improve patient satisfaction in the concept of rapid rehabilitation.
ObjectiveTo evaluate the safty of recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) and parathyroid if Pseudomonas aeruginosa injection (PAI) is used after total thyroidectomy and central neck dissection (CND).MethodsFrom Mar. 2016 to Oct. 2017, we recruited 113 patients with papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) who accepted total thyroidectomy and CND. During operation, 1 mL of PAI was applied in 58 patients (local spray group) and 55 not (control group). The hoarseness, hypoparathyroidism, chylous fistula, drainage volume, hospital stay, and incidence of complications were compared between the two groups.ResultsThe two groups embraced few difference in age, gender, BMI, tumor site, the diameter of tumor and the number of metastatic and the harvested lymph nodes (P>0.05). There were nobody who has suffered in hoarseness and permanent hypoparathyroidism in both groups at any time after operation. There was no significant differences of complication between the two groups. The drainage volume at 24 h after operation in the local spraying group was more than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P=0.023). There were 2 patients had chylous fistula after surgery in the control group but none in the local spray group. The total volumes of drainage, incidence of fever and incision infection, the mean stay in the hospital, and the postoperative pain score had no statistic significance in the both groups.ConclusionAfter total thyroidectomy and CND, local spraying of PAI in the wound cavity is safe and will not damage the recurrent laryngeal nerve.
ObjectiveTo systematically review the incidence of internet addiction disorder among college students in China.MethodsPubMed, EMbase, VIP, WanFang Data and CNKI databases were electronically searched to collect cross-sectional studies on incidence rate of college students’ internet addiction in China from inception to February 2020. Two reviewers independently screened literature, extracted data and assessed the risk of bias of included studies, then, meta-analysis was performed by Stata 16.0 software.ResultsA total of 65 cross-sectional studies involving 87 702 subjects were included. The results of meta-analysis showed that: the overall incidence of college students’ internet addiction in China was 10.7% (95%CI 9.6% to 11.8%). The incidence of internet addiction from 2011 to 2018 (11.7%, 95%CI 10.2% to 13.2%) was higher than that from 2005 to 2010 (9.6%, 95%CI 8.1% to 11.1%). The incidence in male students (14.6%, 95%CI 13.1% to 16.0%) was higher than that in female students (6.9%, 95%CI 5.9% to 7.8%). The incidence of urban students (12.2%, 95%CI 9.3% to 15.2%) was higher than that of rural students (9.0%, 95%CI 7.3% to 10.6%). The incidence of students who were not satisfied with their major (16.2%, 95%CI 5.5% to 26.8%) was higher than that of satisfied (5.0%, 95%CI 1.3% to 8.8%). The incidence of students with poor academic performance (29.4%, 95%CI 11.9% to 47%) was higher than of excellent academic performance (4.1%, 95%CI 1.9% to 6.4%).ConclusionsThe incidence rate of internet addiction among college students in China shows an obvious upward trend. There are differences in the incidence rates of internet addiction among college students in different regions. The incidence rates of internet addiction are different among different genders, degree of satisfaction with their majors and academic achievements.
Systematic reviews can provide important evidence support for clinical practice and health decision-making. In this process, literature screening and data extraction are extensively time-consuming procedures. Natural language processing (NLP), as one of the research directions of computer science and artificial intelligence, can accelerate the process of literature screening and data extraction in systematic reviews. This paper introduced the requirements of systematic reviews for rapid literature screening and data extraction, the development of NLP and types of machine learning; and systematically collated the NLP tools for the title and abstract screening, full-text screening and data extraction in systematic reviews; and discussed the problems in the application of NLP tools in the field of systematic reviews and proposed a prospect for its future development.
Objective To summarize the relationship between IgG4 and IgG4 related thyroid diseases. Methods Domestic and international publications involving the pathological features of IgG4-related thyroid diseases and relationship with IgG4 were retrieved and reviewed. Results IgG4-related disease was a newly recognized class of chronic and systemic lymphocytes disease, which may be solitary or involving multiple body organs, as well as thyroid. The expression of IgG4 was found in leisons of Hashimoto thyroiditis, Riedel thyroiditis, and papillary thyroid carcinoma. Conclusions IgG4-related thyroid disease is a new concept of thyroiditis. The knowledge of this new disease will provide appropriate treatment for patients with thyroiditis.
ObjectiveTo construct the comprehensive evaluation indicator system of Chinese patent medicines for ischemic stroke, to determine the weight of indicators, and to provide references for the comprehensive evaluation of the efficacy, safety, and economy of Chinese patent medicines.MethodsTwo rounds of expert consultation by Delphi method were applied to establish the comprehensive evaluation indicator system of Chinese patent medicines for ischemic stroke, and the weight of each indicator was determined by the analytic hierarchy process method.ResultsQuestionnaire recovery rates of 2 rounds were 92.59% and 96.00%, the expert authority coefficient was greater than 0.7, and the coordination coefficients of experts in the total index were 0.224 and 0.370 (P<0.001). A three-level comprehensive evaluation indicator system for Chinese patent medicines for ischemic stroke was established and the three first-level indicators included efficacy, safety, and economy. And there were 15 second-level indicators, and 33 third-level indicators. Through the analytic hierarchy process method, the weights of each first-level indicator were 0.626 4, 0.301 2, and 0.072 4, respectively.ConclusionThe comprehensive evaluation indicator system contains efficacy, safety and economy, and provides a basis for a comprehensive evaluation of Chinese patent medicines for ischemic stroke. The indicator system is of great significance for the design of outcomes for clinical trials of ischemic stroke, the conduction of systematic reviews, and the development of clinical practice guidelines for ischemic stroke patients when selecting study outcomes.
