  • Efficacy and Safety of Compound Flumetasone Ointment for Neurodermatitis and Chronic Eczema:A Systematic Review

ObjectiveTo assess the efficacy and safety of compound flumetasone ointment for neurodermatitis and chronic eczema. MethodsWe searched the Medline, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, EMbase, CBM, CNKI and Wanfang Data to collect randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of compound flumetasone ointment for neurodermatitis and chronic eczema; the retrieval time started from founded date to December 2012. The language was confined to English and Chinese. We performed meta-analyses using the Cochrane Collaboration's RevMan 5.0 Software. ResultsA total of 22 RCTs involving 2 049 patients with neurodermatitis and chronic eczema were included and assessed. At the end of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th week, the efficacy of topical compound flumetasone ointment (or combined with oral antihistamines) was obviously higher than that of other topical corticosteroid preparations[RR=1.39, 95%CI(1.30, 1.50), P<0.000 01; RR=1.25, 95%CI(1.15, 1.37), P<0.000 01; RR=1.21, 95%CI(1.11, 1.33), P<0.000 1]. Only temporary and slight adverse effects, such as erythema, desquamation, burning and tingling were observed, whereas no serious adverse effects were reported. ConclusionThe limited evidence demonstrates that topical compound flumetasone ointment (or combined with oral antihistamines) is safe and efficient. More large sampled and multiple central RCTs are required to verify these conclusions owing to the limitations of the present study.

  • Application Study of Optical Method in Measuring Wall Thickness of Dental Impression

Dental impressions are widely used in the field of oral restoration. The materials are used for making impression in oral cavity. In order to measure the thickness of impression for reference in clinic, the real impressions are taken as the object for studying. Through optical method, charge-coupled device (CCD) is used for collecting the grey image of cutting section of the impressions which are located in the same plane with steel dividing ruler. According to convert relationship between dividing ruler and pixels collecting grey image, the thickness of impression specimens can be obtained. The results show that the optical method used for measuring thickness is feasible to the task and the precision can reach micro dimension. The experiment method and technique can also be provided for measuring thickness of similar tissue engineering materials.

  • Grant and Aid Systems for Graduates of Clinical Medicine of "985" Universities in China: A Comparative Study

ObjectiveTo investigate the difference of grant and aid systems for graduates of clinical medicine of "985" universities in China, in order to provide references for further advancing the system in West China. MethodsThree "985" universities were selected from each part of China including eastern China, central China and western China. A structured questionnaire was used to investigate the administrative departments of graduate study. The following data were included: grant extraction structure, academic scholarship coverage, living subsidies, three indexes of post allowance, etc. Excel software was used to summarize data, and then descriptive analysis was conducted to analyze the relevant data. ResultsThe grant systems for graduate students was mainly composed of three parts including financial allocation, social support and school aid in clinical medical colleges of "985" universities in China. The doctor scholarship coverage reached 100% in each region, while the coverage of academic scholarship for postgraduates, whole life subsidy levels of graduate students and "Three Helps" job coverage ratio were presented in the following trend: eastern China > central China > western China. ConclusionCompared with the grant and aid systems for graduate students of clinical medicine of "985" Universities in eastern and central China, the graduate grant in western China has the following problems, such as less coverage, lack of social support resources, imperfect grant systems without incentive mechanism. All these problems are needed to be further solved in future.

  • HISTOLOGICAL OBSERVATION AND VASCULARIZATION EVALUATION OF PORCINE ACELLULAR DERMAL MATRIX PROCESSED WITH MATRIX METALLOPROTEINASE 7 AFTER IMPLANTED INTO RATS

ObjectiveTo investigate the histological changes and vascularization of the porcine acellular dermal matrix (P-ADM) processed with matrix metalloproteinase 7 (MMP-7) (P-ADM-pm) after implanted into rats. MethodsSixty-two pieces of porcine reticular layer dermis which were from the pig abdominal skin and obtained by using a mechanical method, were randomly divided into group A (n=31) and group B (n=31). The porcine reticular layer dermis in 2 groups were treated with decellularization (P-ADM), then the P-ADM in group B were treated with processing by MMP-7 (P-ADM-pm). Thirty adult male Wistar rats were selected. P-ADM (group A) and P-ADM-pm (group B) were subcutaneously transplanted into the left and right fascia lacuna, respectively. The implants were harvested from 6 rats at 3, 7, 14, 21, and 28 days after implantation, respectively. Gross, histochemical, and immunohistochemical observations, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) examination were performed to observe host cells, microvessels infiltration and histological changes in the implants. ResultsNo rat died in the experiment, incision healed well and no obvious inflammatory reaction was seen in all rats. Gross observation suggested that the implants of 2 groups were encapsulated by a thin layer of connective tissue at 7 days after implantation. With the time of implantation, the microvessels increased and coarsened, and the changes of group B were more obvious than those of group A. At 21 days, the microvessels of 2 groups decreased, and the implants of group B showed complete vascularization. The histochemical and immunohistochemical observations showed that group A had more severe inflammatory response than group B. Fibroblasts and microvessels in group B appeared in the superficial zone of implant at 3 and 7 days after implantation and they could be observed in the center zone of implant at 14 and 21 days. However, fibroblasts and microvessels in group A appeared in the superficial zone of implant at 3 and 14 days and they could not be observed in the center zone of implant at 28 days. Fibroblasts and microvessels of group B were significantly more than those of group A (P < 0.05). SEM examination showed that more fibroblasts and new collagen fibrils were observed in group B at 14 days. ConclusionThe host response to P-ADM-pm is similar to normal wound healing, and P-ADM-pm as implantable scaffold material plays a good template conduction role.
