【Abstract】 Objective To evaluate the method and the early effectiveness of total hip arthroplasty in the treatment of protrusio acetabuli. Methods Between January 2006 and February 2010, 16 cases (16 hips) of protrusio acetabuli were treated, including 6 males and 10 females with an average age of 56.5 years (range, 39-72 years). The median disease duration was 6.4 years (range, 1 year and 6 months to 35 years). Involved hips included 7 left hips and 9 right hips; 3 patients had primary protrusio acetabuli and 13 patients had secondary protrusio acetabuli. The preoperative Harris score was 49.5 ± 5.5. According to Dunlop et al. classification criterion, there were 3 cases of mild, 9 cases of moderate, and 4 cases of severe. All patients received total hip arthroplasty with bone graft and cementless prosthesis for recovery of femoral offset and acetabular center of rotation. Results All incisions healed by first intention without complication of infection, deep venous thrombosis, or nerve injury. All patients were followed up 12-62 months with an average of 37 months. The Harris score at last follow-up was 90.5 ± 4.5, showing significant difference (t=49.578, P=0.000) when compared with preoperative score. The X-ray films showed that no prosthesis loosening or subsidence was observed, and bone graft healed with no sign of re-protrusion. Conclusion In treatment of protrusio acetabuli, total hip arthroplasty with bone graft and cementless prosthesis can recover the femoral offset and acetabular center of rotation and provide satisfactory early effectiveness.
ObjectiveTo systematically review the efficacy and safety of acupuncture on postpartum depression (PPD).MethodsPubMed, EMbase, The Cochrane Library, Web of Science, CNKI, WanFang Data and VIP databases were electronically searched to collect randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on the efficacy and safety of acupuncture in treatment of PPD from inception to February 2021. Two reviewers independently screened literature, extracted data and assessed risk of bias of included studies. Meta-analysis was then performed by using Stata16.0 software.ResultsA total of 13 RCTs involving 899 patients were included. The results of meta-analysis showed that there was no significant difference between hand acupuncture and fluoxetine hydrochloride in HAMD score (MD=0.45, 95%CI −0.52 to 1.41, P=0.36), clinical effective rate (RR=0.93, 95%CI 0.70 to 1.23, P=0.59), and clinical cure rate (RR=0.88, 95%CI 0.44 to 1.76, P=0.73). However, hand acupuncture was superior in safety to fluoxetine hydrochloride (RR=0.04, 95%CI 0.01 to 0.28, P<0.05). There was no significant difference in clinical effective rate (RR=1.08, 95%CI 0.87 to 1.36, P=0.49) and cure rate (RR=1.31, 95%CI 0.84 to 2.04, P=0.24) between both groups.ConclusionsThe current evidence shows that there are no differences between hand acupuncture and non-acupuncture in reducing HAMD score, improving the clinical effective rate and clinical cure rate. Due to the limited quality and quantity of the included studies, more high-quality studies are needed to verify the above conclusions.
In order to seek a patient friendly and low-cost intestinal examination method, a structurally simple pneumatic soft intestinal robot inspired by inchworms is designed and manufactured. The intestinal robot was consisted of two radially expanding cylindrical rubber film airbags for anchoring and one low density polyethylene film airbag for axial elongation, which achieved movement in the intestine by mimicking the crawling of inchworms. Theoretical derivation was conducted on the relationship between the internal air pressure of the anchored airbag and the free deformation size after expansion, and it pointed out that the uneven deformation of the airbag was a phenomenon of expansion instability caused by large deformation of the rubber material. The motion performance of the intestinal robot was validated in different sizes of hard tubes and ex vivo pig small intestine. The running speed in the ex vivo pig small intestine was 4.87 mm/s, with an anchoring force of 2.33 N when stationary, and could smoothly pass through a 90° bend. This work expects to provide patients with a new method of low pain and low-cost intestinal examination.
