ObjectiveTo investigate the diagnostic value of MRI hip joint unilateral oblique coronary scanning in the diagnosis of femoroacetabular impingement (FAI).MethodsFrom February to October 2014, 75 patients with hip joint pain who were highly suspected of FAI after X-ray or CT examination were selected as subjects. Using Siemens 1.5 T MR, fat-suppressed T2-weighted imaging sequences, T1-weighted imaging sequences, and proton density-weighted imaging sequences were used. For each patient two scan methods were used. Method A: on the sagittal image of the hip joint, the line of sight was parallel to the oblique coronal plane scan of the (one-sided) long axis of the femoral neck. Method B: on the cross-sectional image of the hip joint, the positioning line was parallel to the conventional hip joint coronal scan of the left and right femoral heads. McNemar test was used to compare the detection rates of FAI of the two methods.ResultThe detection rate of FAI of A-scanning [62.6% (47/75)] was higher than that of B-scanning [30.6% (23/75)], and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.001).ConclusionAn image obtained from a diagonal coronal scan parallel to the long axis of the femoral neck can more fully display the pathological changes of the acetabular labrum and the anatomy of the femoral head and neck joints, and the damage of the femoral head and neck junction, which provides a more reliable imaging basis for the clinician to diagnose FAI.
Objective To investigate the effects of different ventilation modes on postoperative pulmonary complications in elderly patients undergoing abdominal surgery. Methods The patients who underwent upper abdominal surgery under general anesthesia in Chengdu Office Hospital of the People’s Government of Tibet Autonomous Region between February 2020 and February 2021 were selected. Patients were randomly divided into volume controlled ventilation (VCV) group, pressure controlled ventilation (PCV) group, and pressure controlled ventilation-volume guarantee (PCV-VG) group according to the random number table method. All the three groups adopted the internationally recognized lung protective ventilation strategy. The transcutaneous arterial oxygen saturation and respiratory mechanics indicators of three different time periods, as well as pulmonary symptoms and signs and laboratory imaging examinations 7 days after surgery were recorded. The incidence of postoperative pulmonary complications in the three groups of patients were evaluated using the Melbourne Group Scale Version 2. Results A total of 120 patients were included, with 40 in each group. There was no statistically significant difference in the general situation of the three groups of patients (P>0.05). The platform pressure and compliance of three different time periods all changed over time (P<0.05). There were statistically significant differences in the occurrence of pulmonary complications and hospital stay among the three groups 7 days after surgery (P<0.05). Conclusion Under the internationally recognized lung protective ventilation strategy, PCV-VG mode can significantly reduce the incidence of pulmonary complications 7 days after abdominal surgery, shorten the length of hospital stay, and improve the quality of life in elderly patients.
ObjectiveTo investigate the primary culture method of human papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) cells for a long term and establish a monitoring and verification measures. MethodsPTC cells were isolated following routine procedures and cultured in the DMEM supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum, glutamine, and 20 ng/ml epidermal growth factor (EGF). Thyroglobulin (Tg) and thyroperoxidase (TPO) in nutrient solution and specific antigen Tg expression of PTC cells cultured for different days were observed. ResultsThe PTC cells grew satisfactorily up to 45 days of incubation. Tg content in nutrient solution expressed the training period of a linear singular parabolic, achieved peak value (985.2 μg/L) at about 14 d. TPO had not been detected in nutrient solution. The Tg expressed positively by immunization fluorescent dyeing. ConclusionsPTC cells cultured in the present method can survive to over 45 days. A brief monitoring and evaluation systems of PTC cells has been established. This report prompts that cultured cells within 14 days maybe more suitable to gene research and provide alternative to the basic research of PTC events and features.
