  • Study on the Relationship between Pressure and Cell Injury of Human Bladder Smooth Muscle Cells

ObjectiveTo explore the relationship between the pressure level within the scope of promoting proliferation and cell injury of human bladder smooth muscle cells (HBSMCs). MethodHBSMCs in vitro were divided into the experimental group and control group. The cells in the experimental group were exposed to 40 cm H2O (1 cm H2O=0.098 kPa) pressure and those in the control group were cultured in normal condition for 24 hours. We investigated the cell morphology and cytoskeleton with indirect immunofluorescence staining for α-actin. Propidium iodide (PI) staining was applied to evaluate the level of cell apoptosis. ResultsThere was no significant difference in the cell morphology between the two groups. However, the expression of α-actin in the experimental group[(50.93±1.99)%] was significantly reduced comparing with that in the control group[(24.70±1.61)%] (t=32.404, P<0.001). The results of PI staining showed that compared with the control group[(3.50±2.12)%], the number of PI staining positive cells in the experimental group [(9.00±1.41)%] was significantly higher (t=6.110, P<0.001). ConclusionsPressure condition can promotes cell proliferation, but at the same time, it can also lead to cell injury of HBSMCs.

  • Status-quo of Humanity Quality Education of Clinical Medical Postgraduates in China: A Literature Study

ObjectiveTo study status-quo of humanity quality education of clinical medical postgraduates in China, provide ideas and suggestion for humanity quality education of medical postgraduates. MethodsGeneral evidence-based concepts and management research methods were applied. CNKI as well as other main official websites in China were searched to collect Chinese literature about humanity quality education of medical postgraduates. Then descriptive analysis was performed. ResultsA total of 62 studies were included. The results of qualitative analysis showed that, humanity quality education was not enough in class hours, category setting, demanding satisfaction, and actual effects. The effects of tutors did not effectively play in humanity quality education. General contents of humanity quality education were not the focus of education for clinical medical graduates. We should not easily replace humanity quality education evaluation with education assessment. ConclusionWe should improve humanity quality course setting, models and construction in humanity quality education of clinical medical postgraduates; take values, ideas, innovation and thinking capacity as content focus; consistently develop the style of humanity quality education; improve the effects of tutors on humanity quality education; and establish relevant complete effect evaluation system.

  • Diagnosis and Treatment of Postoperative Intestinal Obstruction of Gastrointestinal Cancer

ObjectiveTo investigate the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of the postoperative intestinal obstruction of gastrointestinal cancer. MethodThe clinical data of 58 patients with postoperative intestinal obstruction of gastrointestinal cancer from January 2011 to January 2013 were analyzed retrospectively. ResultsIn 58 patients with postoperative intestinal obstruction, there were 46 cases of incomplete intestinal obstruction, 12 cases of complete obstruction. Seventeen cases were treated conservatively and 41 cases were accepted laparotomy. The surgical exploration found that there were 4 cases of strangulated abdominal internal hernia, 4 cases of volvulus, 1 case of stercoral obstruction, 2 cases of intussusception, 9 cases of adhesive intestinal obstruction, and 21 cases of tumor recurrence. There were 32 patients with high tumor markers before laparotomy, including 19 cases of tumor recurrence. Fourteen cases had no obvious tumor lesions detected by PET-CT, but recurrence and metastasis were found by surgical exploration. ConclusionsThe recurrent postoperative intestinal obstruction of gastrointestinal cancer mostly means recurrence and metastasis, with poor prognosis. Early laparotomy may improve the prognosis and the quality of life, elevated tumor markers have some links with tumor recurrence and PET-CT is not sensitive for multiple nodular metastases.
