After two decades of development, transcatheter left atrial appendage closure has emerged as a safe and effective intervention for stroke prevention in patients with atrial fibrillation. Concurrently, substantial advancements have been made in novel devices, innovative techniques, and evidence-based medical research. The annual report on transcatheter left atrial appendage closure systematically reviews global academic progress in 2024, encompassing newly published clinical evidence, recently developed occlusion devices, and updated international guidelines/consensus statements, while discussing existing problems and future development directions.
